Liu Yunhan, a police officer at Shanghai Prison for New Inmates, won this year’s prison management skill competition in Shanghai last week.
He beat out the competition with excellent performances in recognizing prisoners by looking at their hand-written letters, handling emergencies such as what to do when a prisoner becomes ill, and other skills necessary for prison management.
The competition, the third of its kind, started with on-duty training for all police officers, five of whom won preliminary contests to enter the final held on Thursday last week.
